Sound, Song and Silence
Singing has always helped me touch a deep sense of presence, and over the last decade I have been exploring the connection between mindfulness and voice and how they can both support and strengthen our experience of the other. My explorations have been deeply informed by the embodied presence work of Movement of Being, and my teachers Colin Harrison and Fanny Behrens.
How does it FEEL right now, in our bodies to be making this sound, learning this song, receiving this harmonic beauty? When we take the time to LISTEN to the silence - what is here, how does it feel? When we SING as a grounding for a mediation can it support us landing more fully here in this moment?
I run retreats regularly at Sharpham House.
